Getting Started
Quickstart
Build Chabi, start the server, and verify both the Redis and HTTP surfaces.
Prerequisites
- Rust stable
makeredis-clifor the quickest Redis verification
Go is only required if you want to run membench.
Build The Workspace
make buildStart The Server
The current Makefile target is make dev.
make devWith explicit ports:
REDIS_PORT=6379 HTTP_PORT=8080 make devVerify The Redis Listener
redis-cli -p 6379 PING
redis-cli -p 6379 SET greeting hello
redis-cli -p 6379 GET greetingExpected:
PINGreturnsPONGSETreturnsOKGETreturnshello
Verify The HTTP Listener
The current HTTP surface is intentionally small:
GET /returns a JSON health payloadGET /metricsreturns Prometheus textGET /snapshotreturns the in-memory snapshot view
curl http://127.0.0.1:8080/
curl http://127.0.0.1:8080/metrics
curl http://127.0.0.1:8080/snapshotRun The Integration Tester
The test harness starts the server, runs the Rust tester, and shuts the server down:
make testIf you already have a running Chabi instance, you can also use the tester binary directly:
cargo run -p chabi-tester -- --redis-port 6379 --http-port 8080 --debug
