HTTP And Metrics

The current HTTP endpoints and Prometheus metrics exposed by Chabi.

HTTP Endpoints

Chabi currently exposes three meaningful HTTP paths.

GET /

Returns a simple health response:

{"status": "ok"}

GET /metrics

Returns Prometheus text format from the Redis server state.

GET /snapshot

Returns the current snapshot representation as JSON keyed by database index.

Metrics

The current Prometheus payload includes:

  • chabi_connected_clients
  • chabi_total_connections_served
  • chabi_total_commands_processed
  • chabi_keys{type="string"}
  • chabi_keys{type="list"}
  • chabi_keys{type="set"}
  • chabi_keys{type="hash"}
  • chabi_keys{type="zset"}
  • chabi_expiring_keys
  • chabi_pubsub_channels

Example Calls

curl http://127.0.0.1:8080/
curl http://127.0.0.1:8080/metrics
curl http://127.0.0.1:8080/snapshot | jq

What Is Not Exposed Over HTTP

The current HTTP server does not expose a key-value write API.

Older prose in the repository still refers to minimal HTTP key-value endpoints, but the implementation in packages/chabi-server/src/server/http.rs currently provides health, metrics, and snapshot inspection only.
